MacKerritcher State Park – October 2018

On October 2nd Kate, me and the dogs ventured up to the coastal town of Fort Bragg and MacKerritcher State Park for four nights.  A four and a half hour drive.  We went up with our RV friends Mike and Vicki (from Grass Valley) and Debbie (from Sonoma).  It started out a bit rainy and wet for the ride and the first and second night but generally it was clear and beautiful.

First night we stayed in West Pine campground but for the remaining three days we were in Surfwood, site #121 with our friends right next to us.  We biked into town a couple of days.  That journey included a flat tire but luckily right near our home base.  The bike trail now extends all the way from Mackerritcher to the Noyo River harbor at the south end of Fort Bragg.

Mike and Vicki had some LPG issues with their rig but since we were so close to town they were able to find an RV repair place that fixed them up pronto for a fair price.  Problem was primarily the LPG detector solenoid going bad.  These are not required anymore and therefore it was simply bi-passed.  Also some refrigerator parts were replaced.

The dogs loved it.  Charlie especially loves to race around the sandy beach areas.  Ben just likes to explore and enjoys being with groups of people .
