Loon Lake #2 August 2019

August 28th me, kate and the dogs went for three nights and stayed in site #16 across from Gary and Cheryl. For late August the lake was much higher than normal. Weather was 82 degrees in daytime and 52 mornings. Not many bugs. Took kayaks, no jeep.

Kayaked out to Deer Crossing Lodge which was closed for the winter, so we could look around. Saw bald eagles. Ben hiked out to Butt Rock beach and back. 1.5 miles RT. We thought we lost Ben one day. Had everyone looking for him. Finally found him just across the road from our camp, in the bushes by Gary’s site, in the shade eating a rawhide bone of Benetar’s. Gary was shooting scenes from his upcoming video titled “the Dude”.
