The Last 35+ Years:

Since moving from San Francisco in 1991 to live in a more rural setting, I have been self employed.  I began with home remodeling and resale, now referred to as “flipping”.   Then I became a commodity trader and developed a computerized trading system (Tres Hombres) that historically, over a 6 year period, had annual returns of approximately 200%. I licensed the system out to a brokerage firm in Southern California that marketed it to investors.

I moved to Nevada County in 1996 and then Placer county in 2007.  During this time  I have been designing and building websites (until about 2015) and working with developing an ETF trading system.  I also achieved my A+ certification for PC repair and maintenance to enhance my understanding of computers.

Photography and novice videography are my main hobbies augmented  with my DJI Phantom 3 advanced drone.

I am now retired and live with my wife Kate in our home in Colfax, with two dogs (Ben and Charlie).  We enjoy hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, biking,  camping, kayak fishing, cooking, and our grandchildren.  With our recent acquisition of a 27′ Class A Winnebago and my wife’s retirement this year we plan to do a lot more RV trips in 2018.
