Jackson Meadows Closing campout October 2017

Jackson Meadows

The last week of the season for Pass Creek campground at Jackson Meadows.  I stayed three nights.  Cold weather!!  Down to 27 and highs only up to 55.  Found out the heater in Big Bertha works great!  Wish I had brought Charlie’s sweater although he seemed just fine.  Me and the dogs hiked around a bunch then stayed inside while I read a couple good books.  Gorgeous weather except for one day when the smoke from the fires covered the sky.  As far as fishing, it was way too cold in the mornings and windy or smokey.  There was only one day when the lake was relatively calm, smoke gone and in the 50s so I tried my luck but found I didn’t have any.  Zero fish, not a nibble.

I love the aspen trees turning yellow and they were just beginning their change.  Such a great feeling of the autumn coming in.  The cold, the wind, the fall colors… just so wonderful.

  1. Hey Bro, sounds like fun but very frigid for me.its so great that Bertha has a high power heater.
I truly hate the cold weather. Will you take me on a trip in big Bertha with you as my guide? How
about to Monument Valley, Utah? Does Big Bertha run well & drive easy, is it fun to drive? I hope that I can see it
some day in the near future. Oh Geoff , my knee still is in a lot of pain. My PT comes to the house generally twice
a week for about a half an hour of therapy & exercise. I will continue with PT until my knee gets mobility back again
with out the pain. Enjoy your travels & keep on writing your travelogues.
Take care Geoff & remember me on any journey where you could take your lil Bro as a companion.
Lil Bro George in Las Vegas, Sin City.
